Bulgaria issued a miniature sheet on Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe on 29 Oct 1974. The miniature sheet had four stamps of 13 st denomination each and featured Doves, Map of Europe, Olive Branch & Inscription. The MS had a print run of 260,000.
On 02 Mar 1979, the same miniature sheet was issued with Overprints on EUROPA on each stamp and Beograd 1977, Helsinki 1975, Madrid 1980 on side margins. This overprinted MS had a print run of only 35,000. Each MS was numbered. It has a high catalogue value.
Italy issued a set of three stamps to Mark Stamp Day on 23 October 1977. One of the stamps features Kite Flying by Children. The other two stamps on Children sports feature Children playing Volleyball and Children catching Butterflies.
Eastern Tailed -Blue Butterfly stamp- USA 2016 – Non Machineable Surcharge
USPS issued a stamp on Eastern tailed Blue Butterfly on 24 Sep 2016. It is a Non Machineable Surcharge. This is used on envelopes which cannot be automatically processed and have to be hand cancelled. They are charged a non machineable surcharge even if they weigh less than an ounce. This butterfly stamp is equivalent to a regular first class stamp (presently 49c-2018 rates 50c) plus the “first ounce Non machineable surcharge” currently 22 cents totalling 71 cents.
The Eastern tailed blue butterfly or eastern tailed blue also known as Everes comyntas is a common butterfly of eastern North America. It is a medium sized butterfly distinguished from other blues of this category by its small thin tail. The male species shown on stamp has iridescent blue color on its upper wing.
