Tian Tan Buddha Hong Kong – Nauru 1997
Tian Tan Buddha or Big Buddha is a large Bronze statue of Buddha Sakyamuni completed on 29 Dec 1993 and located at Ngong Ping Lantau Island Hong Kong SAR.The Statue is sited near Po Lin Monastery .It is 34 metres high and is a major centre of Buddhism in Hong Kong.
Nauru issued a miniature sheet on 12 Feb 1997 on the Big Buddha Statue to commemorate the 11th Asian International Stamp Exhibition held in Hong Kong in 1997.
