Atsara is derived from Sanskrit word Acharya (Holy Teacher). Atsaras are clown figures who entertain the crowd at Tshechus.

Two miniature sheets were issued by Bhutan on 10 Sep 2015 on Atsara(Acharya) of Bhutan. Miniature Sheet with one stamp of 40 Nu and a miniature sheet with six stamps of 20 Nu each.
