Germany will issue a set of two se-tenant stamps (0.80 euro) on EUROPA 2020 theme- Ancient Postal routes. Date of issue 07 May 2020.
The theme for 2020 is ancient postal routes. The design produced by Switzerland in cooperation with Germany depicts a postal route from 1627, printed in a vertically correlated form. The route ran from Rheinhausen in Germany, passing through Basel and Zurich, before reaching Milan and Mantua. It was operated by the House of Thurn and Taxis, a noble family from Lombardy who set up a courier service for the Republic of Venice in the 14th century.
Great Britain issued a miniature sheet on St Paul’s Cathedral on 13 May 2008. It contains two stamps of Ist Class & two stamps of 81p. It was designed in English Baroque style by the architect Sir Christopher Wren in 1675. It is the seat of Bishop of London. Galapagos Islands are located in the Pacific ocean and a province of Ecuador. Charles Darwin visited this volcanic archipelago in 1835 and the number of species here inspired his Theory of Evolution.
Great Britain issued a miniature sheet containing four stamps of 81 pence each on 12 Feb 2009 to commemorate 200th Birth Anniversary of Charles Darwin (1809-1882) and features the species found on Galapagos Islands.
