Georgia – State Bird – Brown Thrasher. It was adopted as the official state bird in 1935 and by the Georgia State legislature in 1970.

State Flower- Cherokee Rose was adopted as the official state flower in 1916. It derives its name from Cherokee Native American Tribe.

A First Day Cover is listed, it shows Georgia as the Southeast State of USA.

Colorado State Flag – The State Flag consists of three equal-sized stripes.

  • The outer stripes are blue in colour as the National Flag.
  • White centre stripe.
  • There is a large semi-circular ‘C’ in red in the centre.
  • In the opening of the letter ‘C’ is a gold disc.

The Colours in Flag represent the environmental features of the state.

  • White symbolizes the snow on her mountains.
  • Gold shows abundant sunshine.
  • Red represents Colorado’s red soil.
  • Blue is a symbol of clear blue skies.

A First Day Cover is listed, it shows Colorado State Flag.

Ignacy Lukasiewicz (1822-1882) was a Polish Pharmacist, Engineer and Inventor. He is credited with the invention of an oil lamp.

In 1856 he built World’s first modern oil refinery.

1n 1853 invented the first modern Kesorene Lamp

In 1853he introduced the first modern street lamp in Europe.

In 1854 he constructed the World’s First modern oil well

He discovered how to distil Kerosene oil from seep oil

Poland issued a set of stamps on 22 Mar 1982 to mark his 100th Birth Anniversary. The stamps featured Oil lamps.
