Conolly’s Plot, the oldest teak plantation in the World is situated in Nilambur, in Malappuram District of Kerala. It is named after H V Conolly, the Malabar District Collector between 1841 to 1855 who was instrumental in planting teak in the entire Nilambur area.

Hikkim World’s Highest Post Office -Special Cover India 2014
The Hikkim Post office in Lahaul Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh in India has a Post Office located at 4440 metres or 14567 feet. It is supposed to be the Highest Post Office in the World. It was established on 05 Nov 1983.
It caters to about 460 persons in that area and mail travels from Hikkim to Kaza by Foot and then to Reckong Peo by Bus and Shimla,then on a train to Kalka and again by Bus to Delhi from where to its final destination.
However the Qomolangma (Everest/Sagarmatha) Base Camp Postal Service in Tibet at 5200m may be the highest Post Office in the World.
