Stamps on Master Healers of Ayush – India 2019
India issued a set of 12 stamps of Rs Five each on 12 Master Healers of Ayush. It was issued on 30 Aug 2019. A mixed sheetlet containing 24 stamps and 12 sheets of 24 stamps on each personality was released.
The Ministry of Ayush in India aims at developing, educating and researching in the field of Alternative medicine. AYUSH means
A- Ayurveda Y – Yoga and Naturopathy U – Unani S – Siddha H – Homeopathy.
The 12 eminent scholars, practitioners and great master healers were featured on stamps. A Sheet on T V Sambasivam Pillai is listed.
T V Sambasivam Pillai (19 Sep 1880- ) was an acclaimed scholar of Siddha Medicine and his Cyclopaedic Dictionary is used as reference material by Siddha students.
