Gautam Buddha’s Birthday is a holiday traditionally celebrated in East, South and South East Asia. It is based on Asian Lunisolar Calendars and is primarily celebrated in Baisakh month of Buddhist Calendar and Bikram Samvat of Hindu Calendar and that is why called Vesak. It also falls on full moon Uposotha day in 5th or 6th Lunar Month. It is also celebrated on the eighth day of the fourth month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The full moon is Purnima in Sanskrit and hence Buddha Purnima. It is celebrated in April, May or June based on Gregorian Calendar. In 2019 it is being celebrated on 19th May.
In 2013 Sri Lanka issued a set of four stamps and a miniature sheet to celebrate Vesak. The stamps feature incidents from the life of Young Prince Siddhartha (Gautam Buddha). He goes out of his Palace in a Chariot accompanied by his Charioteer Channa or Chandaka. These are referred to as Four sights which led Buddha to enlightenment.

SL Rupees 5.00- Prince Siddhartha encountered a Diseased Man
SL Rupees 15.00- Prince Siddhartha encountered a decaying Corpse.
SL Rupees 50.00- Prince Siddharth encountered an Ascetic.
Living Together Cartoons on Stamps – Australia 1988.
Australia issued a set of 26 stamps by 26 cartoonists on Living together cartoons. The stamps were issued on 17 Feb 1988 and 16 Mar 1988. A FDC with six stamps from 2nd issue released on 16 Mar 1988 is listed.
UPU or Universal Postal Union was formed in 1874. It is a specialised agency of UNO that coordinates Postal Policies among member nations of UNO. Heinrich Von Stephan founded UPU which has its headquarters in Bern Switzerland.
Switzerland and UPU issued stamps on 09 Oct 1999 ( World Post Day) and to mark 125th Anniversary of UPU. Two stamps issued by Switzerland are in the shape on an envelope and UPU stamps feature hands and Rainbow.
Conserve Water – Help WAPDA Serve Pakistan -Stamps of Pakistan- 2016
Pakistan issued a stamp on Conservation of Water . The slogan on stamp is “Conserve Water Help WAPDA serve Pakistan “. WAPDA is a Government owned public utility maintaining Power and Water in Pakistan. It does not manage thermal power. WAPDA includes Tarbela and Mangla dams among its resources.
The stamp shows Water,Drop of water on hand and the slogan “Conserve Water Help WAPDA serve Pakistan “. The eight rupees stamp was issued on 22 Mar 2016.
