-The 10th Pan American Games were held in Indianapolis Indiana USA  from 07 Aug to 23 Aug 1987. Over 4,300 athletes from 38 Countries participated in 30 Sports and 140 events.

The 2005 South East Asian Games or 23rd SEA Games were held in Manila Philippines from 27 Nov to 05 Dec 2005. About 5,300 athletes from 11 countries took part in 443 events in 40 Sports. The Philippines led the medals tally.

The Pacific Games (earlier called South Pacific Games) are held every four years for countries around the South Pacific Ocean. The First Games were held in 1963 and the sixteenth edition will be held in Apia Samoa in July 2019. Nine different cities in Six Countries have hosted the Games.

The Fourth South Pacific Games were held in Papeete Tahiti from 25 Aug to 03 Sep 1969. Papua New Guinea issued a set of four stamps to mark the games. The stamps were issued on 09 Jun 1971. A FDC with four stamps is listed.

The Third South Pacific Games were held in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea from 13-25 Aug 1969. Papua New Guinea issued a set of three stamps to mark the games. The stamps were issued on 13 Aug 1969. The stamp features “Fireball” Class Sailboat.
