The King Baudouin Antarctic Base was a Belgian scientific Base built in 1958 and abandoned in 1968,in Princess Ragnhild Land,Queen Maud Land on the sea Coast of Riiser Larsen.
The expedition was launched to coincide with International Geophysical Year 1957. It was inspired by Belgian explorer Gaston de Gerlache, son of Commander Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery whose expedition on Ship Belgica which left Antwerp on 12 Nov 1957 and landed in Land of Queen Maud on 26 Dec 1957.This was the first Belgian scientific base in Antarctic. Belgian again invested in scientific research after abandoning King Baudouin base by establishing the Princess Elisabeth station built during International Polar Year 2007-08 and inaugurated on 15 Feb 2009.

Stamps on Environment & Conservation – Indonesia 2007.
A UN Climate Change Conference on Environment Care ,Conservation ,Global Warming was held in Bali in 2007.Indonesia issued a set of Four stamps on this subject.
Two of the stamps feature melting ice and Polar Bear in tears reflecting the status of Global warming today.
A Postally used cover is listed. This cover from Indonesia interestingly addressed to India was” MISSENT TO SRI LANKA” retrieved back and delivered .Sri Lanka Post has stamped it “MISSENT TO SRI LANKA”.
Indian Theme on Foreign Stamps – 20th Anniversary Madrid Protocol stamps of Spain.
Spain issued a stamp on 10 Jan 2018 to mark the 20th Anniversary of Madrid Protocol which provides for environmental protection of Antarctica. The stamp depicts flags of some countries and Indian Tricolor is one of them. The First Day Cover shows the stamp with Tricolor . A Penguin is also shown on FDC.
