APS Cover Jan 2019 – Army Dental Corps – 3rd Reunion
The Dental Services in Indian Army came into existence on 01 Feb 1941 with the commissioning of 07 Officers in the Indian Medical Service Dental IMS (D). The Indian Navy and Indian Air Force got their Dental Services in Apr 1943 and Apr 1945 respectively. On 26 Jan 1950, the name of the Corps was changed to Army Dental Corps. It became Additional Directorate General of Dental Services in 1995 and Directorate General Of Dental Services in 2001.
APS issued a cover on 16 Feb 2019 to mark its 3rd Reunion.
Asia Pacific Dental Congress Commemorative stamp – Thailand
On 17 Jan 1998 Thailand issued a commemorative stamp to mark the 20th Asia Pacific Dental Congress held in Bangkok from 17 to 22 Jan 1998. The 10 Baht stamp features a graphic picture of tooth,Logo of Dental Congress, dental hand instrument.
Special Cover – Army Dental Corps – Section of Defence Forces Dental Services Conference
Federation Dentaire Internationale (FDI) is the most reputed international association of Dental professionals. The Military chapter of FDI is Known as Section of Defence Forces Dental Services ( SDFDS) which is a assembly of Dental professionals serving the Armed Forces of their respective countries.
The Army Dental Corps of Indian Army hosted the Annual Conference of SDFDS in 2014 at New Delhi. A Special Cover was released by Army Postal Service to mark this occasion.
