Stamps on Alishan Forest railway – Taiwan (ROC) – 1992
Alishan Forest railway is an 86 Km network of narrow gauge railways running through mountain resort of Alishan in Chiayi county of Taiwan. The railways originally constructed for logging of Cypress and Taiwania wood by Japanese Imperial Government in 1912 has now become a tourist attraction with its unique Z-shaped switchbacks, over 50 tunnels and 77 wooden bridges. The main line originally ran from Chiayi ( elevation 30m) to Alishan (2216m).
Taiwan (ROC) issued two stamps on Alishan Forest railway on 05 Nov 1992. It features a Steam engine (5 NT$ stamp) and a Diesel Locomotive ( 15 NT$ stamp).
Malaysia issued a miniature sheet with four stamps on UNESCO World Heritage Sites on 09 Apr 2009.

50 sen – Taman Kinabalu, Sabah (World Heritage Site 2000)-First national Parks of Malaysia built in 1964. It is Malaysia’s First UNESCO Heritage sites. It is surrounded by Mount Kinabalu -the highest mountain on the Island of Borneo. This park is home to 4,500 species of Flora and Fauna including 326 Bird species.

Kerguelen Islands – Stamps of French Territories in Antarctic -1979
Kerguelen Islands also known as Desolation Islands are group of Islands in Antarctic which are a part of French Southern and Southern Lands under French Territories in Antarctic . Port -Aux- Francais is a capital settlement of Kerguelen Islands .It is a Scientific base along the eastern shore of Gulf of Morbihan on La Grande Terre in Antarctic.
The French Territories in the Antarctic issued a stamp on 01 Jan 1979 on Kerguelen Shag or Kerguelen Cormorant and the FDC has a cancellation of Port Aux Francais in Antarctic.
Paintings by Liu Kuan-tao -Stamps of Taiwan (ROC) -1998
The Yuan Dynasty Painter Liu Kuan-tao was a Skilled painter of Lanscapes,Portraits , Flowers , Birds & Animals. A Painting of Emperor Shih-tzu of Yuan Dynasty (also Known as Kublai Khan) on a hunting expedition was the subject of stamps on Ancient Chinese Painting “Drawing of Hunting of Emperor Shih-tzu,Yuan Dynasty”. Kublai Khan was grandson of Chengis Khan.
This Painting is set amid a vast sea of sand which shows Kublai Khan leading entourage on horse back to hunt in the wilderness.The drawings of dogs,horses and camels arevery true to life.Kublai Khan dressed inred and awhite fur overcoat is centre figure of painting.But the horseman who is drawing his bow to shoot a wild geese on the left is the focus of the whole painting.The eyes of all the figures in the painting are fixed on him in anticipation of the arrow leaving the bow.
Provincial Flags of Papua New Guinea on Stamps -2004
Papua New Guinea issued a set of beautiful and colorful stamps on Provincial Flags of Papua New Guinea. This was the second issue from series of three and all were definitive stamps.
The details of stamps and Provinces featured are
70 t – Madang Province – Red ,Black and Yellow stripes represent National Flag. Six white stars represent six districts .In black and white Madang’s memorial to coast watchers of WW II surrounded by coconut palm branches (agriculture) and a slit drum for tradition are featured.
70t – Eastern New Britain Province – A Green stripe separates Red and Blue Traingles Four white stars over blue represent the National Flag. Traditional shell money surrounds a circle. traditional masks of Tolai(dukduk) and Baining dancers are in centre
2.65k – Eastern Highlands Province -Red and Green triangles form the background . Inside a large yellow star in centre , a one legged man named Nokondi holds a coffee branch ( main cash crop).The star has six points (six districts).It is surrounded by eight smaller stars (for local government councils).
2.70k –Morobe Province – The background stripes are green (for vegetation),yellow (for Markham Valley) ,Blue (for sea).A white Bird of Paradise(for animal life),white pigss tusks(for tradition), a brown and yellow kundu drum (for festivals)and spears (for traditional warfare) are at the centre.
4.60k- Milne Bay Province – Milne Bay is SE tip of Papua New Guinea. Vertical stripe of green on left (for plants ) and white (for beaches ).A square is divided into triangles of blue (for sea)and red (for festivals).A Yellow star on red represents Eastern star (a seafarers guide) and Christian missionaries
10k –East Sepik Province – In upper right quarter a yellow Bird of paradise ( National Flag) is set on red background. In the lower left quarter a haus tambaran ( for hills and plains people ), crocodile (for river people),shark (for coastal people).kundu and garamut drums, spear and lime pot (representing culture ) are set over a green background.
