First Day Cover- First Flag hoisting at Port Blair- India 2018

Port Blair was the First Indian territory liberated from Imperial British Rule. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose hoisted the Tricolour at Gymkhana Ground in Port Blair on 30 Dec 1943. India Post issued a set of three stamps on 30 Dec 2018 to commemorate this historic occasion. The cancellation features Netaji, leader of INA.

First Day Cover – Paika Rebellion -India 2018.

The Paikas were traditional Militia of Odisha. They served as Warriors and did Police functions during Peacetime. The Paika rebellion was India’s first struggle for Independence. It was an armed rebellion against British India Company’s rule in Odisha in 1817.

A Commemorative Postage stamp was issued by India Post on 24 Dec 2018 to mark Bicentenary of Paika Rebellion. A FDC is listed.
