Guru Nanak Dev Ji founded Sikhism in 1469 and on Baisakhi Day of 1699 Guru Gobind Singh introduced Khalsa Identity in Anandpur Sahib on the banks of river Sutlej. The stamp features Anandpur Sahib and Kesgarh Sahib Gurudwara. It is also one of the Five Takhts of Sikhs.

Taj West End Hotel – The British build military barracks in Bangalore Cantonment in the 1800s.To cater to English Clientele a British Woman opened a boarding house with 10 beds and named it as Bronson’s West End. This one storey building was built on racecourse road, a second building was added and a third building which belonged to Grenadier Guard was taken over. In 1912 it was taken over by Spencers and in 1984 The Taj Group took over the West End. Among the Patrons have been Devika Rani, her husband S Roerich, Sir Winston Churchill, Prince Charles. David Lean’s “Passage to India ” has been shot here.
