A Postcard issued by Karnataka Postal Circle in 2015 featuring the Victoria Hospital Bangalore. The Foundation stone of Victoria Hospital was laid on 22 Jun 1897 by Kempananjammani Avaru, the then Maharani of Mysore to commemorate 60 Years of Queen Victoria’s reign. It was formally inaugurated on 08 Dec 1900 by Lord Curzon, the then Viceroy of India. It is now renamed as Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute and is the largest hospital in Bangalore with 1000 beds.

A Letter “M” from Starboard side of RMS Mauretania , once the fastest ship to cross the Atlantic, is up for auction. It will be auctioned by Tennants Auctioneers in North Yorkshire , UK. RMS Mauretania was operational during Titanic’s short era. It was also active during WorldWar I as a Hospital ship and carried over 75,000 soldiers.

The New York Hospital or the Old New York Hospital or The City Hospital was founded in 1771 by a Charter of King George III. It is the second oldest hospital in New York City and third-largest in the USA. In 1998 it merged with Presbyterian Hospital and is called New York-Presbyterian Hospital now.

Sri Lanka issued a stamp of Rupees Five on 23 Apr 2009 to commemorate the Tricentenary of Leprosy Hospital Hendala near Colombo. The Dutch established a Leprosy Asylum near south Bank of river Kelani near Colombo in 1708-09. An FDC with stamp cancelled at National Blood Transfusion Service Auditorium Colombo.
