National Parks of Australia – Stamps of Australia-1979
Australia issued a set of seven stamps on National Parks of Australia on 09 Apr 1979.Five horizontal were issued in strips of Five and vertical stamps were issued in Se-tenant pair. The Seven parks featured are
Port Campbell National Park Victoria-established on 05 May 1964. It has flora such as sun orchid,spider orchid,bower spinach etc.Southern emu ,honeyeaters,egrets,Pelicans and black swans are also found here.Brown bandicoots , echidna are fauna species found here.

Royal National Park – New South Wales
Flinders Ranges National Park South Australia
Nambung National Park Western Australia
Girraween National Park Queensland -is an area of granite belt in the Darling Downs region of Queensland.It was established on 21 Oct 1966.Girraween is an aboriginal word meaning place of flowers. The Golden wattle blooms in July in the Park. Among the fauna species found here are common wombat,spotted quoll,lyrebird,turquoise Parrot and Bald rock creek turtle
150th Anniversary of Brisbane – Pre Stamped Envelope Australia 2009
In 1859 Brisbane became a Municipality and the First Council was established .Brisbane was declared the Capital of newly formed state of Queensland. Brisbane today is a vibrant City with multi cultural communities and cutting edge technologies.
A Pre stamped envelope was issued on 01 Sep 2009 to mark Brisbane’s 150th Anniversary.It features Brisbane iconic locations -City Botanic Gardens ,Goodwill Bridge and Southbank Parklands.
International Year of Natural Fibres – Pre Stamped Envelope Australia 2009
Year 2009 was declared by UNO as International Year of Natural Fibres. Derived from Plants & Animals natural fibres are used to form fabrics,paper,insulation and other building materials essential to society. As of 2009 30 million tonnes of natural fibre was produced in the world annually.Natural fibre contributes significantly to Australian economy with Australia wool,cotton,angora,cashmere,mohair & alpaca traded all around the World.
Accounting for about one quarter of of World’s Wool production ,Wool is the most valuable natural fibre industry in Australia with exports valued at $2.7 billion in 2008 and in 201617 expected to be worth $3.615 Billion.
Australia Post issued a beautiful Pre stamped envelope to commemorate International Year of Natural Fibres 2009 on 18 May 2009.The Cancellation shows a sheep and words “The World’s largest Wool Producers”. Australia’s natural fibres are also featured on the PSE.
