Stamps on All Blacks – New Zealand 2010
The Silver Fern that appears on the All Blacks Jersey comes from the native Ponga Fern. The New Zealand native Rugby Team adopted fern as its emblem when it toured England in 1888.At the inaugural New Zealand Rugby Football union meeting in 1893 Tom Ellison a member of the 1888 team proposed a uniform consisting of black jersey with a Silver Fern. the Silver fern has formed part of the Uniform for successive All Blacks teams ever since.
In a 1905 tour of the Northern Hemisphere the team’s early uniforms consisted of black jerseys with a Silver Fern. Since this time they have become known around the world as the ALL BLACKS.
