During the days of  early settlement South Australian Police Force performed the functions of carriage of mail to isolated communities.One of the well known mail carriages was from Adelaide to Encounter Bay via Willunga during 1850-60’s.

A Special police mail was carried by South Australian Mounted Division from Adelaide GPO to Stampex 86 Asian Region International Philatelic Exhibition at the Wayville Pavilion from 4-10 Aug 1986.
