First Day Covers India 2018 – Damodar Hari Chapekar
India Post issued a postage stamp in the denomination of rupees five on 08 Jul 2018 on Damodar Hari Chapekar (1870-1898). The Chapekar brothers belonged to Chinchwad near Pune and were revolutionaries who were hanged by Colonial rulers for their role in assassination of the Plague Commissioner of Pune . The People were upset with the oppressive measures taken by Colonial rulers.
