Warwick’s Electric Theatre – It was the first Permanent structure built for exhibiting films.
Raja Sandow ( 1894- 1943 ) -He was one of the earliest actor/directors of silent films and later talkies both Hindi and Tamil.
Nataraja Mudaliar (1896-1972)- He can be called the founder of Tamil Cinema He produced the first Tamil Silent Film ‘ Keechakavadham’ in 1916.
Raghupaty Prakash (1901-1956)- He brought European trends in Indian Films .His father was first exhibitor in the south. A stamp has also been issued in his honour.
A Narayanan (1900-1939)- He brought the first ‘Talkie Studio’ (Sound City /Srinivasa Cinetone) to Madras and made the first Talkie in Madras -Sreenivasa Kalyanam
