Miniature Paintings on Stamps – Pakistan- 1969
An organisation Regional Co-Operation for Development (RCD) was established by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey on 21 Jul 1964 to allow socio-economic development of member states. From 1965 till 1979 the three nations jointly issued stamps on various themes.
Pakistan issued stamps on miniature paintings to celebrate fifth anniversary of RCD. The three stamps issued on 21 Jul 1969 featured
Turkey – Rupee one -Ottoman Miniature – Art form of Ottoman dynasty in Turkey linked to Persian Miniature . 16th Century works
Iran -50 paise- Safavi Miniature – Art of Persian Safavid Dynasty (1501-1722)
Pakistan -20 paise- Mughal Miniature – Queen/Woman on the Window .Mughal Empire art form which flourished under Akbar & Jehangir in India.
