Gustav Mahler (1860-1911) was Austro- Bohemian composer who was one of the leading conductors of his generation. A BBC survey of 151 conductors ranked three of his symphonies in the top ten symphonies of all time. He was associated with Vienna Court Opera, New York’s Metropolitan Opera and New York Philharmonic.
A Stamp was issued on 17 Apr 1996 by Israel on Gustav Mahler- the stamp features him and score from Resurrection Symphony and Creation of Light plus a tab.
