Israel issued a set of three stamps on the theme Traditional Costumes of Jewish Communities abroad. These stamps on ethnic costumes were issued on 13 Feb 1997. The costumes featured are
1.10 new shekel – Jewish Woman from Ethiopia
1.70 new shekel -Jewish Man from Kurdistan
2.0 new shekel -Jewish Woman from Salonika (Thessaloniki -Greece)
