Legendary Chevrolet Cars & Automobiles on Stamps – Marshall Islands 1998.
Marshall islands an Island country in the Pacific Ocean issued a set of eight stamps on Legendary Chevrolet Cars on 01 Sep 1998. These stamps were issued in minisheets of eight and each with a denomination of 60 cents.
The cars featured are
1931 Sports Roadster– One could buy a 1931 Sports Roadster in 1931 at $475 the lowest Price in Chevrolet’s history.Its sixcylinder engine generated 50hp. It had an attractive three spoke steering wheel and and ruble seat open could seat four. It was first time ever that Chevrolet sales were than Ford’s.
1912 Classic Six – It was an expensive car at $2,150 for those times but it had numerous features like demountable tire rims,electric headlights,4.9 liter ,six cylinder engine with dual camshafts.The T head allowed the intake and exhaust valves could be mounted on opposite sides of the cylinders.Its engine developed 40 hp for a top speed of 65mph.
