Miniature Sheet on Genghis Khan – Mongolia 2006
The Year 2006 was celebrated in Mongolia to mark 800th Anniversary of Great Mongolian Empire founded by Gehghis Khan ,regarded by Mongolian people as Father of Nation. Founded in 1206 the Great Mongolian Empire at its peak under Kublai Khan had 33 million square kilometers territory under its control from Mediterranean to the Pacific.
A Special Souvenir Sheet of Silk was issued to commemorate this event on 19 Sep 2006. It features a Painting by D Erdenebileg showing Gehghis Khan at the head of his troops
