Old Towns on Stamps- Sweden 1984
Sweden issued a set of six stamps on old towns on 28 Aug 1984. The towns featured on the stamps are
Jonkoping – King Magnus Ladulas awarded the rights to the town in 1284.
Karlstad -It got its town privileges in 1584 and named after Prince Karl IX
Gavle – It is known since 1413 for exporting Iron & Copper.
Sigtuna- The settlement dates back to 1000 AD
Norrkoping- This town had its origin in 1384 AD
Vadstena -It was opened in 1384
