Ancient Chinese Paintings on Stamps – Taiwan (ROC) – 1987
Taiwan (ROC) issued a set of 10 stamps on ancient Chinese paintings on 22 Sep 1987. The Paintings are by Wen Cheng-Ming called “After Chao Po-Su’s Red Cliff”. Wen Cheng Ming (1470-1559) was one of the four masters of Ming Dynasty. The painting is a hand scroll with ink and colour on silk and he painted it in 1543 at the age of 79.
