Sculpture by Boris Schatz – Stamps of Israel 1972.
Boris Schatz (23 Dec 1866 – 23 Mar 1932) was a Lithuanian Jewish artist and Sculptor. He settled down in Palestine and is known as “Father of Israeli Art “.He also founded the Bezalel School of Art in Jerusalem.
Israel issued a stamp in his honour on 07 Mar 1972. The stamp featured his sculpture “The Scribe”. A FDC is listed.
