Nehru Park Post office -Floating Post Office Dal Lake – Special Cover

The Nehru Park Post Office in Srinagar Pincode 190001 has existed on a houseboat since British times. On 13 Sep 1978, a special pictorial cancellation featuring a houseboat was introduced. This post office became “Floating Post Office,  Dal Lake” in 2011.

A Special Inaugural Cover was released on 13 Sep 1978 to commemorate the introduction of Houseboat/Shikara Pictorial cancellation.
