400 Years of Capital Dhaka – Stamps of Bangladesh 2010.

The History of Dhaka dates back to the Kamarupa Kingdom from 350 to 1140 AD and then the Sena Dynasty. The Delhi Sultanate ruled Dhaka in 14th Century before the arrival of Mughals in 1608. The British ruled it till 1947 when it became part of Pakistan and Capital of East Pakistan. In 1971 Dhaka became the Capital City of a New Nation Bangladesh.

Bangladesh issued a block of four stamps on 16 June 2010 to mark 400 Years of Capital Dhaka. All stamps were of 10 Taka denomination. The Stamps features the City during different periods

10 Taka – Dhaka during Mughal Period

10 Taka – Dhaka during British Period

10 Taka – Dhaka during Pakistan Period.

10 Taka – Dhaka in 2008.
