ATM Stamps of Hong Kong – Chinese Lunar Years
Hong Kong started issuing ATM stamps as Annual series celebrating the New Year according to Chinese Lunar Calendar with pictures of 12 animals representing these years. The Fixed impressions and gummed paper were renewed every year. The rolls of paper were manufactured in Australia by Leigh- Mardon printers. The designs are by Michael Tucker and feature natural colour backgrounds related to the theme of the issue.
The First stamp was issued on 30 Dec 1986. Two such ATM stamps used on a cover from Hong Kong to India are listed below.
Design no 5 – Year Of Horse Date of issue – 21 Feb 1990.
Design no 6 – Year Of Goat Date of issue – 21 Feb 1991.
