The Channel Islands of Jersey is divided into twelve administrative districts or Parishes. All Parishes have a coastline and share a name with ancient Parish churches. Each Parish is headed by a constable and other important officials Road Committee, Honorary Police, Road Inspectors and a Parish Assembly. St Ouen – It has a Population of 4000 (2011 Census). St Ouen The Patron Saint of Normandy founded a religious community on Jersey before the Viking invasions. He is believed to have seen a miraculous cross which told him to travel from Normandy to Jersey. It features on the crest/coat of arm of St Ouen Parish. The 12p Stamp features St Ouen Parish Crest.
