Canadian Women Feminists on Stamps – 1981.
Canada issued a Se-tenant set of four stamps honouring Canadian Women Feminists. A FDC with stamps is listed.
All are17 cents stamps and feminists featured are
17c – Idola Saint-Jean (1879-1945). She was a Quebec Journalist, educator and Feminist. She fought for equal rights for Women which led to women getting voting rights in Quebec in 1940.
17c – Emily Stowe (1831-1903).She was the first women physician to practise in Canada. She campaigned for First Women’s Medical College in Canada.
17c – Henrietta Edwards (1849-1931) A Women’s rights activist and reformer.
17c – Louise Mckinney (1868-1931).She was a Politician and women’s rights activist from Alberta. She was the first woman sworn into the Legislative assembly of Alberta.
