Festival d’Avignon or Avignon festival is an annual arts festival held in the city of  Avignon every summer during the month of July in the courtyard of Palais des Papes and other locations in the City. It was founded in 1947 by Jean Vilar. Along with with the official festival the “In” festival, no of other shows are organised in Avignon known as “Off festival.
