2019 Cricket World Cup – Can Pakistan repeat 1992 performance.
The 2019 Cricket World Cup is being hosted by England & Wales from 30 May to 14 July 2019. This is the 12th edition of the World Cup. It is the fifth time that the Cricket World Cup is being held in England and Wales. It had earlier hosted the 1975,1979,1983 and 1999 World Cups. The 2019 World Cup features 10 teams. The 2011 and 2015 World Cups featured 14 Teams.
All the Cricket playing Nations have been regularly issuing stamps on Cricket. Cricket is popular in Commonwealth Countries and these countries have issued stamps One Day International World Cups since the inaugural tournament in 1975.
The Fifth World Cup was hosted by Australia and New Zealand from 22 Feb 1992 to 25 Mar 1992. South Africa participated for the first time and Zimbabwe became the ninth team after winning the 1990 ICC Trophy. It was also known as Benson and Hedges World Cup 1992. There were many firsts during this World Cup. The players clothing became coloured, white balls were used for the first time, black sightscreens and floodlights made their debut at the world cup
Pakistan won the trophy by defeating England by 22 runs in the Final at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Pakistan issued a set of three stamps on 27 April 1992 to commemorate its World Cup Victory. The three stamps feature the Trophy, Imran Khan, a White Cricket ball & Flags of Pakistan and other countries.

26 Jun 2019- Pakistan beat New Zealand in a thrilling encounter at Edgbaston Birmingham on 26 Jun 2019. Pakistan was at the same stage in 1992 -losing to West Indies and India and then beating New Zealand.
Are they heading for another World Cup Championship? Is it going to be India -Pakistan Semi-final or India- Pakistan Final? The next round of encounters are going to be interesting as it has opened up the World Cup. The standings and semi-final line ups may see a change
