The Temples of Khajuraho were built during the 9th to 12th century. Most of the temples are decorated with sculptures of Gods, Goddesses, apsaras etc. They are Hindu and Jain temples.

The stamp depicts one of the sculptures “Apsara removing a thorn from her foot” .A picture of Visvanatha temple dated 999 AD is shown on First Day Cover. FDC is listed with the cancellation of 1 CBPO.
