The 2006 FIFA World Cup Football was 18th FIFA World Cup. It was held in Germany from 09 Jun to 09 Jul 2006. Germany hosted it for the second time after 1974. Thirty-Two (32) teams participated and Italy defeated France 5-3 in the final at Olympiastadion in Berlin to lift the trophy. Germany defeated Portugal to clinch the third place.
