The 2008 Summer Olympics or XXIX Olympics were held in Beijing China from 08 to 24 Aug 2008. Liechtenstein issued two stamps on 02 Jun 2008 to commemorate the Olympics. A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 Nations participated in 28 Sports, 41 Disciplines and 302 events. President Hu Jintao of China inaugurated the Games. China topped the medals tally with 48 Gold Medals.
