Stamps on National Parks – New Zealand 1987.
New Zealand issued a set of four stamps on 100th Anniversary of National Parks on 17 Jun 1987.
70c – Urewera – Established 1954, forested along the east coast of NZ’s North Island.
80c – Mt Cook National Park – Established 1953, Mt Cook lies in this park.
85c – Fiordland National Park – Established in 1952, it is the largest national park.
$ 1.30 – Tongariro National Park – It is the oldest national park in New Zealand. It has been acknowledged by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site of mixed culture and natural values. There are three active volcanoes in the park.
