Anna May Wong -Ist Asian on US Coins
Anna May Wong ( 03 Jan 1905 – 03 Feb 1961 ) whose original name was Wong Liu Tsong was an American actress also considered to be First Chinese American movie star in Hollywood. Started her career in 1922 and starred with Marlene Dietrich in the film Shanghai Express (1932) . Inducted into Hollywood walk of Fame.
She features in the US quarter dollar coin series on Women (2022-2025) . She becomes first Asian American to feature on US currency. The Coin will be minted at Philadelphia and Denver Mints and will be released on 25 Oct 2022. The Proof coins have been minted at San Francisco Mint.
