World Ice Hockey Championships 2023 – Latvia

The Latvian Ice Hockey Federation (Latvian: Latvijas Hokeja federācija, LHF) is the governing body for ice hockey in Latvia. It was founded in 1931 and is a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The LHF is responsible for organizing and running the Latvian Hockey Higher League, the Latvian Cup, and the Latvian national ice hockey teams.

The LHF has its headquarters in Riga, Latvia. The current president of the LHF is Guntis Ulmanis.

The 2023 Men’s Ice Hockey World Championships were co-hosted by Tampere Finland and Riga, Latvia from 12-28 May 2023. Canada won its 28th Title by beating Germany 5-2 in the final. It was Germany’s first Medal since 1953. Latvia won its First ever IIHF medal by defeating USA 4-3 in extra time to be placed third.
