French Open 2023 at Roland Garros
The French Open Tennis Tournament is also known as Roland Garros & is now played at Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France. French Open was first played in 1891. It is a clay court tournament played over last week of May and early June. The Roland Garros stadium is named after the French aviator Roland Garros. The First French Open to be played at Roland Garros stadium was in 1928.
Rafael Nadal has won 11 French Open titles in Men’s Singles and Chris Evert has won Seven Women’s singles titles.
France issued a stamp to commemorate 50th Anniversary of Stade Roland Garros (1928-1978) on 27 May 1978.
Roland Garros 2023 – Iga Swiatek (PPoland) is the Top seed aiming for her third French Open Crown . she is playing Karolina Muchova (Czech) who is unseeded and aiming for her first Grand Slam title. The Final is being held on 10 Jun 2023.
Swiatek beat Muchova 6-3, 7-6, 6-4 in three hard fought sets. Third French Open title for Iga Swiatek and first Grand Slam final for Muchova
