Novak Djokovic (Serbia) the third seed defeated fourth seeded Casper Rudd (Norway ) 7-6,6-3,7-5 to win his third French open title , his 23rd Grand Slam title in his record 34th appearance in a Grand Slam final.

First male player to win 23 Grand Slam Titles overtaking Nadal who has 22 Grand Slam Titles. He is also tied with Nadal with 10 Australian Open Titles.

He and Serena Williams are the only players to win 23 Grand Slam Titles in Open Era.

Margaret Court with 24 titles is only ahead of them for the highest number of titles in Amateur and Open era combined.
