Doctor’s Day – 01 Jul 2023- Special Cancellation
01 Jul is celebrated as Doctor’s Day . It commemorates the birth Anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy (01 Jul 1882- 01 Jul 1962) , a Physician and Statesman , who was also the Second Chief Minister of West Bengal (1948-1962). He was also honoured with Bharat Ratna , the highest Civilian Award. He was also a friend and personal doctor of Mahatma Gandhi and treated him during Quit India Movement in 1942.
A Special Cancellation was provided by Karnataka Postal Circle on 01 Jul 2023 at all Philatelic Bureaus and Head Post Offices.
