Sardar Antaji Mankeswar Gandhe – India 2023.
A Rupees Five Commemorative stamp was issued by India Post on 04th July 2023 Sardar Antaji Mankeswar Gandhe. He was Maratha in charge of Northern India and Delhi from 1740 to 1761. He was first identified by Shahu Maharaj. He served under Chimmaji Appa and Peshwa Bajirao in various battles and one of them was Battle of Bundelkhand. He was fluent in Kannauji, Parsi , Hindi and Sanskrit Languages. The Mughal King rwarded him with Jagirs of Etawa & Fupund.
He defeated the Afghans in the Battle of Narela in 1757 and Third Battle of Panipat 1761 against the Balochis. He died in action on 18th Jan 1761.
