Special Covers India 2025 – Biligiri Tiger Reserve

A Special Cover was released on 29th Jul 2025 on Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple Tiger Reserve. It also marked International Tiger Day. It is located in Chamarajanagar District of Karnataka. It is named after the white Rocky Cliff (Biligiri) and ancient Vishnu Temple (Rangaswamy) on its Summit. It was declared Tiger Reserve in 2011.

There is a tribal community living within the tiger reserve known as the Soliga tribe. 
Soligas was the first tribal community living inside a tiger reserve and getting their forest rights recognised by a court in a judgment in 2011.
