Se-Tenant Stamp on IIT Kharagpur -India 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, the first IIT in India, was established on 18th Aug 1951 to promote higher technical education after independence. It was set up in Hijli, West Bengal. According to NIRF 2024 rankings it was placed sixth overall, fifth in Engineering & Research, Second in Architecture. It also raked 45th in the Pitchbook University Rankings.

The Institute will complete 75 Years on 18th Aug 2026. The Department of Posts issued a pair of Se-Tenant stamps to commemorate its Platinum Jubilee. Each stamp has a denomination of Rupees Five. the Stamps feature artistic depiction of Two iconic Towers of IIT Kharagpur.

The old/main tower building was designed by Swiss architect Dr. Werner M. Moser, later Clock Tower added on campus was designed by IIT Kharagpur alumnus and architect I.M. Asthana.
