50 Years of Sri Lankan Cinema -Miniature Sheet 1999.

Sri Lanka Cinema completed 50 Years in 1998. Sri Lanka released a miniature sheet with four stamps on 17 Sep 1999. The stamps feature Sri Lankan Films and actors.

SL Rupees 3.50 – Handaya (1979).It is a black & white Sinhala Children’s film directed by Titus Thotawatte

SL Rupees 4.00 – Nidhanaya (1972). In English it means Treasure. The movie starring Gamini Fonseka and Malini Fonseka won The Silver Lion of St Mark at 1972 Venice International Film Festival

SL Rupees 10.00 – Gam Peraliya (1963).Sinhala Drama Film on Village. It won the Golden Peacock at the International Film Festival of India and Golden Head of Palenque Mexico.

SL Rupees 17.00 – Kodawanu Poronduwa (1947)- Sinhala Film (Broken Promise).It was the first Sinhala Language Film It was produced and filmed in India and influenced by South Indian Cinema.
