China Post issued two stamps of 1.20 Yuan each to commemorate the opening of Olympex -The Olympic Expo Beijing 2008. It opened on 08 Aug 2008 at Beijing Exhibition Center. The Expo showcased Olympic Stamps, Coins, Pins and works of Art.

A First Day Cover issued by China Post entitled “Celebrating the Opening of Olympex, the Olympic Expo Beijing 2008”. The stamps reproduce the Greece 1896 Olympic stamps and a Hurdler on Portugal stamp on 1928 Olympicsat Amsterdam.

The 2008 Summer Olympics or XXIX Olympics were held in Beijing China from 08 to 24 Aug 2008.  A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 Nations participated in 28 Sports, 41 Disciplines and 302 events. President Hu Jintao of China inaugurated the Games. China topped the medals tally with 48 Gold Medals.

China Post issued a set of four stamps on 24 Aug 2008 (24/8/8)for the Closing Ceremony of 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. The theme of stamps was the handover of the Olympic Flame from Beijing to London.

China issued a 1.20 Yuan stamp on 27 Apr 2007 to promote the Beijing Olympics Torch Relay. A special commemorative cover was issued on 24 Mar 2008 to coincide with Torch relay. The Olympics Flame was lit at Olympia on 24 Mar 2008 and it was called “Journey of Harmony”.

Huangguoshu waterfalls (Yellow Fruit Tree Waterfall) on Baishui river located 128 km from Guiyang capital of Guizhou province are the largest waterfalls in China. They are surrounded by 18 smaller waterfalls on which stamps were released in 2001

80 fen -Doupotang  Waterfall   – It is located on Baishui river nested at Huangguoshu at Guizhou province and it is also called steep slope waterfall. It is located in the Huangguoshu complex.

80 fen – Dishuitan Waterfall – Highest fall in Huangguoshu complex at 410 metres.

80 fen – Yinlianzhuitan Waterfall. This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls nested at Huangguoshu at Guizhou province It is named Yinlianzhuitan as it resembles silver chains falling in a well.
