1979 was celebrated as International Year of Child as per UNO resolution. USSR issued a set of stamps featuring paintings by Children on 07 Sep 1979.

3 Kopec-  Painting “After Rain” by Daniya Akhmetshina a 14-Year-old from Kazan. The Painting features mammals and horses.

2 Kopec – Painting “Friendship” by Lena Liberda, a 12 -year-old from Zhitomir. It features children from the International community.

The First Winter Olympics were held in Chamonix, France in 1924 in which 16 Nations participated in 6 Sports, 9 Disciplines and 16 events in Men’s and Women’s Category.

The 1984 Winter Olympics or XIV Winter Olympics were held in Sarajevo Yugoslavia (Now in Bosnia & Herzegovina)  from 08- 19 Feb 1984. The then President of Yugoslavia Mika Spiljak inaugurated the Games. A total of 1272 athletes from 49 Nations participated in 6 Sports, 10 Disciplines and 39 events. East Germany (GDR) topped the medals tally with 09 Gold Medals.

USSR  issued a  set of stamps on 08 Feb 1984 to commemorate the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. Four First Day Cover with stamps are being  listed
