George Jacob Gershwin (26 Sep 1898 -11 Jul 1937) was an American composer and pianist whose compositions spanned both popular and classical genres.

His composition Rhapsody in Blue is a 1924 musical composition for solo Piano & Jazz band which combines elements of classical music with jazz-influenced effects.
